Outgoing Director, Peter Andrews
The ALMA Board of Directors thanks Peter Andrews for two consecutive terms (6 years) of Volunteer Service to the Association and the Board.
According to ALMA By-Laws, Mr. Andrews has reached term limits for the Board of Directors, and must wait at least one year before seeking re-election.
According to Mr. Andrews, "We need New Volunteers on Board," while he continues his service in other roles.
James Grinalds is a passionate member of the professional audio community. With a diverse experience in loudspeaker design, he enjoys bespoke applications and custom shop projects. James is most excited about the development and codification of empirical models in acoustics, a traditionally "approximate" field. As he continues his education, James is committed to growing and developing the professional acoustics arena, drawing from dissimilar disciplines to solve unique problems
Over the last year, James has been involved in ALMA International. As a student of engineering, the opportunities he has found have been invaluable. The mentorship of others in ALMA has been instrumental in his personal and career development. As Co-Chair of the Marketing and Membership Committee, he has had a chance to interact with some of the market leaders and learn about the tides and seasons of the industry. He has worked diligently to develop a modern website for ALMA, which we hope will be live in Q1 2017. His work as Co-Chair has prepared him for the challenges of continuing leadership in ALMA, and he enthusiastically anticipates making larger contributions to the Assoctiation on he ALMA Board of Directors.
Mark Beach has been an active and involved ALMA Member since 2006, serving as Chair on several Committees, including the complete overhaul of AISE in 2014, and has served as Vice President as well as a brief time as President before resigning due to illness. Currently, Mark hold no official ALMA position yet has continued to contribute through recruiting ALMA Members as well as content and Exhibitors for AISE, and university and student outreach.
Mr. Beach's interest in the Board of Directors position is motivated by his desire to implement a multi-year growth plan as presented to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee in January of 2016. His continual dedication to making ALMA International a dynamic and inclusive association has led him to apply his buiness acumen to growing ALMA to better serve the electroacoustic and audio industry.
